Whether seeking dog day care, vacation boarding, or just peace of mind whilst away from that canine friend, home boarding offers a dog friendly alternative to kennels.

So what happens to beloved Rover when vacation time comes around, or if there is a stay in hospital? How long is it fair to leave a dog at home whilst the owners are at work?

There are some options available. Some offer pet sitting services, though not everyone is happy with people staying in their home or having access to their home. For others this service works.

There is dog walking available. Again there is the question of whether an owner is happy having another person visit his home.

Leaving a dog in kennels can not only stress out the dog, but the owner too. It is true to say that some dogs do not have a problem with staying in kennels, but there are certainly those that do. For the latter, there is a solution and one that is becoming more and more popular.

Home Boarding Can Take the Stress of Separation Away

Most dogs prefer their own surroundings and are happier in that environment. Sometimes, though, this is not possible. At times of sickness or vacation or whatever unexpected situation might arise, home boarding offers an alternative. Dogs go to stay with experienced dog carers in the carer’s own home. Each home has been checked and has a secure home and garden. The dog benefits from constant company, frequent walks, fun and games, and lots of hugs.

Sometimes a carer will have other dogs, and on occasions they will look after only the boarding dog. Homes are allocated depending on the individual needs of the dog.

Any time of separation between owner and dog can be difficult, and home boarding helps to alleviate that stress by making the environment for the dog as near to home conditions as possible.

A Busy Work Schedule

For those with a busy work life, doggy day care can be a great solution. Many home boarding companies accept daily bookings. There are also many day care centres that offer a full day of activities for dogs and keep them occupied until the work day ends.

What dog wouldn’t prefer day care or home boarding rather than be left home alone?

Great for Owners Too

Not just dogs benefit from home boarding, because owners can relax and enjoy their vacation knowing their beloved pet is happy and contented whilst they are away. The stress of leaving a dog in kennels can be overwhelming, but seeing a pet in a family environment with all the home comforts is very reassuring.

It’s just a shame it doesn’t work for cats too.
