» hns2277 - Puzzled...what breed can my pup be mixed with?

I got my puppy when he was 7 weeks old. Mom was a pure breed Weimaraner, with papers and all. Family rescued mom from the dog pound and when they took her to the vet they learned she was pregnant. Nitro is now 5 months old and has a build very similar to that of a weimer, only he is blackish brown in color with a white(and black speckled)chest and white on his toes and a little patch of white under his mouth. Any ideas??? I'm not sure how to post a pic on here, but I have several if you want to see them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post the photos somewhere like photobucket and then post a link here so we can all see?

» smileyohio222 - What breed is my dog??

We bought this dog from some lady outside of wal-mart 2yrs ago. She told us it was an Australia Blue something, but I couldn't find that breed anywhere on the computer, so I figured she was lying. If you can help me figure out her breed I'd really appriciated it.

More about her! She is very active, seems like to to hunt for Rabbits, gets along with all type of animals, but doesn't get along great with Toddlers. She is Tan and white with tan speckles on her legs, he also has sorta droopy ears. I have pictures I just can't figure out how to put them on here

I imagine your dog is an Australian Cattle Dog, a herding breed that is sometimes referred to as a Blue Heeler, Red Heeler, or Queensland Heeler. They do have speckled coats, however, you mentioned "droopy ears" so she could be a mixed breed. Here are some links you may find interesting.

P.S. I don't think there's any way to post pictures in this discussion forum but if you post the pictures somewhere like photobucket, you can include the links here.

Hmmm, tough call there. She shows Shepherd very strongly. The pictures don't show her standing but she looks sort of "leggy" like a Dobie but the more I look at her face, the more I think I would guess Rottie. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

About 6 months or so I had asked the question "what breeds is my dog" I got a numerous amount of responses and informed everyone that I would show more photos as she (Hurley) grew older. Well I kinda slacked off on posting photos, but I have finally gotten around to it. Maybe these photos may shed some more light on what breed and/or breeds she may be. I have also included her baby photos just to remind everyone.

I enjoyed seeing the different stages of her growing up period. My guess would be she's Rottweiller/German Shepherd. Her eyes and nose make me think there's a possibility of a trace of pit bull in there somewhere too but not too sure of it. What are some of the previous opinions you've gotten?

We have had quite a few opinions. Our vet said she looked like a Rottweiler/German Shepherd as well. The only thing that makes me think otherwise, is her size. She is pretty much fully grown and only about 70 pounds. Almost everybody else says she has pitbull in her. We have also heard Husky, Red Doberman and Lab. She is the most dosile dog I have ever had, her only downfall is her separation anxiety. She cries and whines whenever we are not around, and chewing on stuff always seems to follow shortly after the crying.

I really don't see Husky or Lab. But I think it's possible she has pit in her although some Shepherds and Rottweilers, especially females can be as small as 70 lbs.
