I had on of The greatdane mastiff mixes out of Darlene's ooppss puppies. the only merle male and his name was Sheriff Jericho. he was born on Jan. 16, 2004 and let me tell ya he got very big his top out weight when he passed away yesterday in his sleep was 224.8lb. yes he was a very big boy and i will miss him dearly and always will cherrish the memories we had together. Like she said if you dont want an ooppss litter then separate them or fix them. The mastiffs are large giants and very loving but if you mix them up in breed you get a very dangerous dog temperment. That you dont want! And if Darlene is able to read this i thought you should know that Mike passed away on Nov.28,2005 with a heart attack also. would like to talk to you contact me at lylman@bellsouth.net....

Hi Misty,
I do love both those breeds and in fact have a Neo Mastiff now. I think the reason you were told that mixing breeds can be dangerous is because you can't know the temperament without sound breeding according to genetics and structure. However, just make sure your dog is properly trained and you're consistent and any dog can become a good canine citizen -that is entirely up to the owner.

I unfortunately do not have any photos of the mix at this time but I'm betting you can do a search on Google and find some.

Good nutrition, sound, solid training, and a pack-centric home and you can have a great dog!

Have you tried doing an internet search on a rescue dog in your specified breeds? I don't know of mixed breed breeders for a multitude of reasons. Rescue organizations of Mastiffs and Great Danes are sure to have some mixes that need a forever home though.

We are currently searching for a pup. We live in East Texas, someone had told us there was a breeder nearby. We cannot find one. But I am curious about the life span of this mixed breed. I read on this site, we someone had to put one down, and another one only lived 2 years. Could someone give me a life span on them. thanks
