» vancetanglewood - adopted a mix breed 2 yr old dog...

I just adopted a 2yr old dog that the pound claims to be a cavalier king charles spaniel mix. I think it may be mix with a long haired chihuahua. what do you guys think? any clues would be greatly appreeciated!

he's not that big- i am guessing 12 lbs or so. long hair like a CKC spaniel or chihuahua. ears perk up, low to the ground with straight tail. snout is too long to be CKC sp. pure bred. not noisy/ yappy at all.

Or a Pomeranian. He's really cute and I'm betting really happy to have been adopted. Not sure about the Chihuahua though :-)

What a pretty coat. You know my first thought on the first picture was cocker spaniel, but the nose is too long. Then I saw this pic for a sheltie/cocker mix.

Kat, as always has such great input. I think I'm leaning more to Papillion also but you just never know. What I am so happy to see is how happy your little guy is just being with you! I'm sure you're a great dog daddy :-) I'm glad you two found each. No matter what breed, he looks to be an awesome dog!!!

I had a cocker/shelte mix and he looked almost exactly like the picture you have. And I had never seen another dog that looked like him until now. A family placed an ad in the newspaper for free puppies and he was the runt of the litter and the last one left, so I didn't get to see what his brothers and sisters looked like. He was the best dog ever and I miss him so much. I've been looking for another cocker/shelte mix ever since he passed away a few years ago. If anyone has this type of dog for sale please contact me. Also for a picture please contact me.

I'm sorry about the loss of your dog. It sounds like you miss him very much. I went through the same thing when I lost a spitz/terrier mix I had years ago. He was the most wonderful dog ever but I learned that it's impossible to ever find "the same dog." Love can't be replaced, but it can be added to. Even dogs with the same breeds have different habits and personalities. I've since fallen in love with many other dogs and learned that I can love each one for himself/herself. Why don't you visit a local shelter and spend some time with some of the dogs there needing homes. Sometimes you find a special one and everything just "clicks." Remember, you're not obligated. Just go look.
