Hello,

Well your description is very good but I'm really challenged to determine a breed without a photo. Do you have a photo you can share with us so I can make a better guess for you???

Have a tail waggin' day!

» farrow212 - curious about the breed(s) of my dog...

I adopted my Molly from craigslist...the people I got her from said she was a lab/shepherd mix, but I'm not totally convinced of that. Molly is 5 months old and weighs about 30 pounds...she has a long pointy nose, little round black eyes, and short floppy ears..she has a short white coat that is mostly covered by large orangish-brown patches and smaller spots of the same color...her belly and legs are speckled, too...when she gets excited or scared, the hair along the back of her neck and between her shoulder blades stands up & forms a little ridge...she's only 5 months old and seems to have just "found her bark", but most of the time, she communicates by mouthing out this wierd howl/whine sound...my husband thinks she's part lab, part beagle...she's a digger, and she loves to chase birds (she'll ignore a cat when we're on a walk, but birds drive her crazy)...i dont know how to post pics on here, so if anyone is interested in helping me figure out the parentage of my dog I would really appreciate it...thanks happy

» nwecker - What is my dog?

My dog is mostly terrier. I got him from the pound. He was found wandering on a busy street. He is black with a white spot on his chest with medium-length, wavy, coarse hair. His eyes are brown. I think he may have some beagle because of his deep hound-like bark. He's small about 16 lbs. He's a chewer and a digger. He's very well mannered but he will take off on me when he's outside. He's also got long legs. He is slender. He's got a very cute face, long nose and beagle ears and a beard. I wish I could post a picture. Thanks.

» lildaisyjordan - Identify breed of my dog

We got our dog from an animal shelter a few years ago. Their paper work says that she is a pittbull/lab mix, which may cause us trouble getting an apartment when we more. I'm not really sure she's pittbull though because she's really good around kids and other dogs. A friend suggested that she may be part staffordshire terrier. Is there a way that I can send a few pictures to someone to get her identified for sure? If I do get her identified and she is NOT a pittbull, how can I get paperwork stating what her true breed is? If she is indeed a pittbull/lab mix, how can find apartments in Orlando, FL that will accept her breed? We really don't want to get rid of her. Please Help!

There is no way you can tell what breed for sure. The animal shelters pretty much guess themselves, they just need to put a breed down. Your dog sounds fine to me. I would just tell everyone it's a lab mix and leave it at that. There's such a thing as too much information.

» nwecker - Dog language

I just watched something on animal planet that was really interesting, this woman, studing to be a vet, was saying that she could speak dog language in 200 breeds. She barked in terrier, lab, pit bull, big shepherd mix and schnauzer that "someone is on the property". It's interesting to me because my dog is so terrier like but his bark isn't terrier like at all. Anyone know about this subject? I'm going to check the internet.
