I feed my dog a doggie treat bacon stick and he starting choking and I didn't know what to do. He finally spit the treat out but what I have done to help. Just in case it happens again and he can't spit it out.

Personally I don't like to give my dogs treats that cannot be crunched up quickly, simply because it's too easy for them to get choked.
But the Heimlich Maneuver is effective for animals as it is for humans. Here's a link giving lots of helpful details.
