- What kind of dog do I have?
The side views don't show Great Dane bone structure as much as the face shots do. If he is only 18 lbs at 3 months I don't think he will get HUGE huge. Did the vet make any recommendations about his food? You could ask about one of the large breed puppy foods that are better for their skeletal growth so they're not so prone to joint problems later on. It may just be the picture but his collar appears just a bit tight. They grow so fast that you may want to check that every week. He's a handsome little fellow. I hope you keep us posted on his progress. I'm including links to a couple of articles I've written that you may be interested in.

- Questioning on my dogs breed
As far as I can tell from the pictures, I would say she appears to be Am Staff.

A standing side view would maybe reveal more but Mavis has the ears of a young German Shepherd and characteristics of Sharpei in the face and muzzle. How old is she? She looks young.

Thanks JButler for helping me solve the riddle. She is about 2 years old, above are 3 pictures of her today, that other pic may have been a bit older. Her ears are unique, they go togethr like radars when she is of interest of something. (my poor cat, haha)

These pictures show a lot more and I see what you mean about not seeing Shepherd in her. The only characteristics of Shepherd that I see is her ears and the carriage of her tail. She definitely shows the Sharpei.

Can you ee anything else in her? She is such a sweet girl. They get tons of suggestions of what she is mixed with. Someone even said Pit and I said no way.
Any more thought on her?
Thanks again...PS I have my house back!

I don't think she has pit bull either. I think it's the Sharpei giving her the bulldog look. Mavis is a really unique looking dog and I can't identify any other particular breeds in her. Maybe the Sharpei/Shepherd mixture is giving her that unique look with out any specific characteristics. Wouldn't one of the DNA tests be interesting?
