» Kd5ddo_ - Flat Coated Retriever

I am looking for a Flat Coated Retriever. A few years ago I got a rescue dog and she has turned out to be the best dog and friend I have ever known. (Somehow they know they have been saved.) I came to find out that she is a Flat Coat and my future bride and I desperately want a second. Does anyone out there know where I can find another? From what i have been able to turn up (or have not been able to turn up) is that they are hard to find in the states but are growing in popularity in Europe. Although we are located in TX, we do not mind road trips.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Flat Coats are rare and I'm wondering if you're positive that your dog is a Flat Coat. That aside, I found the following info on the flatcoat.com website.
"Flat-Coat Rescues (dogs in emergency situations in need of new homes) are luckily few and far between. However, if you are primarily interested in a rescue, contact the National Rescue coordinator to add your name to the list she maintains.

If you are unable to find one, please remember that there are many other wonderful dogs in shelters out there just waiting for their opportunity to prove what "best dogs and friends" they can be. Hope this helps.
