» itspmm - Choosing best clippers

We want to be able to clip our dog's coat at home, so are looking for recommendations for the best clippers to choose. She is a bichon frise/toy poodle cross, with a mixed coat that has very soft hair. I cannot really afford professional standard clippers, but am willing to pay a reasonable price for the appropriate ones. Previously she has been taken to groomers for clipping, but has always been regularly bathed and brushed at home.

My research shows that some brands have variable length teeth vs. comb attachments. Which is better? or not? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
