It also makes a BIG difference in what breed you own,if it's a mixed breed and has a thick coat,or if there are mat's;tight knotted hairball's close to the skin,you need a blade such as a #7 full tooth.oster or andis make thee best clippers and blades in my opinion,and i have been grooming for 13 years.always clip WITH the grain,in the direction of hair growth,and slowly is your best bet,good luck with your groom hun, Dani-palm springs Cali
