DrsFosterSmith.com has eye wash pads especially for cleaning around the eyes. They also have something called Show Eyes Tear Stain Remover. Before cleaning you can use Protective Ophthalmic Ointment to protect the eyes. You just pull the bottom eyelid down and put a small dab inside.
